CMR were recently invited to participate in a careers fair which was put together by “Right Management” who are providing outplacement services to circa 260 displaced employees at a Barclays contact centre in Leeds.

The CMR Team have been working with Barclays and Right Management over the past few weeks, sharing new vacancies in the area and introducing some of the workers whom are facing redundancy to local CMR clients

Beccie Adamson and Mike McEntee were on hand at the Jobs Fair to speak to any employees affected by the redundancies, and provide advice & guidance where possible as well as registering them on the CMR database so we can help them find a new position in the area.

Throughout the day the Barclays employees came to the CMR stand and spoke to us about their situation and asked questions about what can do to help them with their search for a new role. As a lot of people haven’t been in the job market for 15 – 20 years, Beccie and Mike provided them with some invaluable advice on how to make the most of their CV, preparing for interviews and how to create online profiles and utilise the power of LinkedIn to help employers come to them.

Over the course of the day we spoke to lots of different people with varying skills sets, and as a result we had over 50 new candidates registering with CMR who we will be following up with over the next week to hold initial registration interviews.

From a candidate perspective the day was a great success with feedback centralised on how helpful & informative the day was and they are now more confident going onto the job market.
